Last week saw the annual Newry Junior Netball Awards taking place.
The presentations included a run down of the club's achievements in the last year.
The U14 team finished second in their league which is a fantastic effort from our young players. The U16 team finished fourth in their section after some great matches this season. Special mention was given to those players selected onto Regional Academy squads. This included five u14 players who were selected onto the U13 Southern Regional Academy. Lara O'Neill won silver with her team at the Northern Ireland Youth Games. Four U16/14 players were also selected onto the U15 Southern Regional Academy with Ciara Scott and Jessica Watters winning gold at the Northern Ireland Youth Games. Two U16 players, Emily Murphy and Zara Powell were members of the Southern Area Schools select team at U19 level.
Miss Maeve Murray Junior Club Manager thanked club volunteers for their time and effort over the past year. Miss Charlene Malone and Mrs Jacqueline O'Gorman managed players and undertook administrative duties efficiently and assisted in the fulfilment of fixtures.
