St Paul's High School held the Richard Hughes memorial blitz on Saturday past in their indoor sports hall with a great mornings hurling played out between the Camloch and Warrenpoint lads.
Following over an hour long session of games, both sets of players were awarded medals and a few refreshments, as the Hughes family watched on.
Richard's brother Kevin presented the plaque to this years winner, Niall Elshaw. The award is picked from those who have proven their commitment to the under 10 team week in and week out, over the course of the year. Niall has progressed rapidly throughout the year as a young hurler and is indeed a worthy winner of the plaque, which will now reside in his school, St.Josephs, Bessbrook, for the year ahead.
The Hughes family were thanked for their continued support along with the coaches and parents from both clubs, who made the morning a great success!!
