Well Done

Well done to Aoibhe Byrne, Paige Beattie, Sarah McGuinness and Katie Feehan who are all part of the Armagh U13 County Academy and took part in their first training session on Sunday morning.

Last Man Standing

The second round of our The Last Man Standing competition took place at the weekend and again it saw a lot of fallers. The next round of fixtures, for those left in, will take place this coming Tuesday, Wednesday and a Thursday night so team selections will be needed asap.

Armagh GAA Club Draw

The very successful Armagh GAA Club draw is running again in 2020. The draw takes place over 4 months - March, April, May and June - with 16 prizes on offer each month. The first prize each month is £10k, right down to a 16th prize of £200.

Tickets are priced at £100 each with £80 from every ticket going directly to the club after we reach our minimum target of sales. They can be bought by paying the £100 up front or 4 monthly instalments of £25 per month.

Tickets can be purchased from any of our committee members and the more tickets we sell, the more money the club raises. We are encouraging all our club members, families and friends to purchase a ticket either individually or maybe as a group of 4 friends or family members clubbing together at £25 each.

It is a brilliant opportunity to raise much needed funds for the club whilst also being in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes.

Yoga at the Shane’s

Have you ever thought about trying yoga....well now you can every Tuesday evening in Shane O’Neill’s club @ 7.00pm. You don’t need to be a particular body type or have a certain level of fitness to participate....all you need is a willing mind and a mat. The first sessions takes place this Tuesday evening, 21st January @ 7.00pm. The cost is £50 for 8 weeks and everyone is welcome.

Time for Me

The Rural Health Partnership is holding a 4 week Time for Me programme in the club, beginning on Thursday, 30th January @ 7.00pm. The programme is aimed at learning skills to relax and unwind and costs just £10 for 4 weeks which is payable on the first night. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Thank -You

The club would like to thank our former footballer and now Australian resident Ronan McAnulty who took time out during his visit home to present the club with underage training tops on behalf of his company, DRT Civil. The club would like to thank Ronan for his continued and greatly appreciated support of the Shane’s and we wish him and his family a safe trip back ‘Down Under’.

Club Volunteers

The club is always seeking new volunteers to come along and lend a hand, whether it be coaching/managing/mentoring our underage teams, washing strips, marking the field, selling lotto, helping to fundraise, doing the bar, cutting the grass. There are so many things you could do at the club, so if you want to be involved just speak to any committee member.

Lotto

Last week’s winning lotto numbers were 7, 13, 24 & 30. There were no jackpot winners 1 x match three winner. The jackpot now stands at a very impressive £5,350.

Advertising Signs

The club is currently selling advertising signs for around the pitch. If any businesses are interested in having their business advertised at Shane O’Neill’s and would like to purchase a sign please PM our Facebook page or contact any committee member.

Club Bar

The club bar is now available for functions - parties, christenings etc. Please contact Noel McTaggart for more details.

And Finally....

Who’s the senior footballer who hiked to the top of Sliabh Foy on Sunday morning before resting up for a well-deserved cup of tea. Out came the flask of hot water, the container of milk, the sandwiches, the biscuits but low and behold....not a tea bag in sight - rookie mistake Bomber.
