Local Newry runner Sean Smith is heading for Tokyo in February where he could become the first person in Ireland and maybe even the UK to complete all 6 Major Marathons.
Sean originally set out to run the world 5 major marathons and has completed London, Berlin, New York, Chicago and Boston but recently the world major organisation added Tokyo to the majors to bring it to 6 so Japan now beckons for the Newry man.
Tokyo Marathon takes place on the 23rd of February 2014.
Sean is fundraising for Southern Area Hospice and to date has raised over £30,000 in his goal so far.
