SGR Paddy Hamilton not only won the Yapstone Drogheda 10k on Sunday in style but also beat the course record for the event in at time of 00:31:39 . Paddy never looked back after leading for most of the race and showing he is back to top form once again and setting his sights on more podium finishes for the season. A big crowd was there to cheer on Paddy at the finish line, in an event that seen over 1,700 runners taking part. We look forward and wish Paddy all the best for all his up coming races and sure to see him on top in most of them.

LARGE SGR TEAM AT BELFAST MARATHON
SGR took a large bus load of runners and supporters to Stormont for the new start line of the new Belfast Marathon course on Sunday ,which seen a record number of runners taking part. The SGR team didn't know until the end but they had just ran about 460 additional metres more that they needed after the course was measured wrong and time for all our runners to work out correct times from this. A marathon our runners will not forget in a hurry but one to be proud of with their times and with with a little 400 metres more.
SGR had a strong team of runners that took on the marathon and marathon relay with three teams over all .,a great turn out from the club and our supporting teams cheering and giving out water . A big thank you to the Winters and Marsh families for their help and support and to Eamon Murphy for organizing the bus.

SNANE TAKES ON THE MARIST 5K.......
Well done to SGR Shane Sands who has taken part in yet another event at the Marist 5K on Friday and with each event getting stonger. Shane has proudly lklkpresented the club since joining and finished the 5k in Dundalk in a great time of 00:27:57 ,Keep up the great running all your hard training is paying off Shane.

Well done to SGR Malachy O Raifeartaigh who ran with over 5,000 other runners in Dublin City last Sunday at the Dublin Night Run in what looked like a great event and helping support the Sean Cox Foundation. Malachy came come with a great time of 01:03:00

The new location for the clubs Monday evening run is now from Slieve Gullion Park for a 6.45pm start time .Meeting point will be at Slieve Gullion car park .The best way to meet and train with fellow club members and share advise and have a bit of craic.
