The 2013 Newry Show takes place this Saturday the 29th of June at Derrymore House, Bessbrook and it promises something for everyone, whether you know everything about farming or nothing!
There will be a Magic Show, Dog Show, Childrens entertainment, Phils Mini Animal Farm, Crafts, Home Baking and Childrens Sections; Horticulture, Buttercrane Fashion Show, Little Farmer Boy/ Girl competitions, Bonny Baby competition, lots of stands and classes for cattle, sheep, horses, goats and poultry plus much much more.
The Magic Show starts at 12.15.
Entries will be taken on the day for Farmer Girl, Farmer Boy, Glamorous Granny, Most Appropriately Dressed Lady and Bonny Baby kindly sponsored by Buttercrane. The Buttercranes' 1st Fashion show of the day will commence at 1pm and juding of the competitions will then commence at 2pm and will be presented by Miss Buttercrane.
Other Fashion shows will be at 3pm and 4pm with a competition to win an outfit.
Buttercrane will have a Competition to win an Entire Outfit up to value of £200. Miss Buttercrane will be there to award the winners in Bonny Babies, little Farmer Girl, little Farmer Boy, Most Appropriately Dressed Lady and Glamorous Granny competitions kindly sponsored by Buttercrane Shopping Centre. These competitions will commence at 2pm with entries being taken from 1.15pm.
Cattle Section
Pure Bred Aberdeen Angus -"The Ulster Championship summer Event 2013" is at Newry this year and Newry is a qualifying show for H2 Engineering Charolais Championship (NI), McLarnon Feeds/NISA Dairy Cow Championship 2013, Ulster Bank Blonde Calf Champion 2013, British Blue Young Bull Championship, , Bank of Ireland/NISA Junior Bull Championship 2013 and Linden Foods/NISA Pedigree Beef Heifer Championship 2013. enquiries to Kyle Henry 07868365675
Horse and Pony Section
Judging of Ridden Working Hunter Horses and Ridden Hunter Horses starts at 10am.
Jump Cross in association with Warrenpoint Riding Club commences approx 1pm after Working Hunter Class, Ridden Ponies also starts at 1pm and Race Horse to Riding Horse approx 2pm.
NEW this year. Class 162 Rescue Horse and Pony Class- For horses and ponies that have been rescued. Proof of rescue MUST be produced either by photograph or letter from Sanctury. To be shown in hand.
The Dog Show starts at 2pm with a variety of classes.
