Write a commentAs part of NIEA’s 'Archaeology Days 2013', the Mourne Cooley Gullion Geotourism Project are hosting a series of FREE lunchtime lectures which will showcase the relationship between archaeology and geology. The lectures will focus upon the rich and varied archaeological heritage of the South Armagh and South Down regions, and how it developed in response to the natural landscape. This week Dr. Alison Lennon will speak about the medieval archaeology of South Down focusing on the fantastic site at Greencastle.
Wednesday 5 June 2013 – Dr. Alison Lennon, ‘The Medieval Archaeology of South Down.’
Wednesday 19 June 2013 – Dr. Vanessa Ryan, ‘The Built Heritage of South Armagh.’
Wednesday 26 June 2013 – Dr. Siobhán Power, ‘Human Response to the Natural Landscape.’
All three lectures are taking place in the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre at 1pm.
