The ‘Twin Peaks Challenge’ over Camlough Mountain and Slieve Gullion will take place this Saturday 23 June 2018 starting at Carrickcruppen GFC, Camlough with all funds going to Special Olympics Ireland and Run For Autism H.A.N.D.
The exciting event will take in the spectacular views across Camlough and Slieve Gullion mountains in South Armagh. It’s the first of its kind with a full marathon across the two peaks with 100s taking part.

The event has been organised by the infamous Camlough athlete and fundraiser Colm (aka ‘Bootsy’) Fearon. Bootsy has planned three thrilling events on the day including; a marathon and half marathon for runners and also a half marathon for enthusiastic walkers and hikers.
A day full of amazing views, selfies, exercise and most importantly, great craic with a few surprises up on the peaks.
Events on the day
Full Marathon Run - Start time 8.00am from Carrickcruppen GFC.
Half Marathon Hike -Start time 8.15am from Slieve Gullion car park.
Half Marathon Run -Start time 10.00am from Sleive Gullion car park.
Registration and pack up will take place at Carrickcruppen GAC from 7.00am on the day.
The full marathon will start and finish at the club and will be a 1 loop course crossing Slievegullion and Camlough mountains on a multi terrain course.
The half marathon and half marathon hike will be in reverse from the 2017 course, starting at Slieve Gullion and finishing at Carrickcruppen club. Everyone will be transported to Slieve Gullion by bus.
Showers and changing facilities will be available at the finish as well as light refreshments.This event is a self sufficicient run and we urge runners and walkers to carry a water bottle, there will be fill up stations on route.. leave no trace, only footprints.
The event is £25.00 for all events, no booking fee.
After all admin charges, every penny goes to the chosen charities.
The event will be capped.
