This Friday the third of May at 7.30pm, a choir composed of some of the finest young choristers this region has to offer, will perform an evening of sacred choral music in the majestic setting of Newry Cathedral.
The concert will provide a wonderful evenings entertainment that will present an insight into some of the most beautiful choral music ever written, while also exploring some of the most important contemporary choral masterpieces.
The choir will perform pieces ranging from the beautiful choral works of Giovanni Palestrina and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart through to the sublime luscious harmonies of John Tavener. The concert promises to be a spectacular display of fine music performed at the highest standard. The concert is being held in order to raise funds for two extremely deserving charities. The Southern Area Hospice has been providing community care in the Newry area since 1989 and Friends of A is a newly established charity seeking to fund research into brain aneurysm prevention.
