A Warrenpoint man has decided to run his own Marathon around Warrenpoint, Burren and Rostrevor this September in support of the Southern Area Hospice after the Berlin Marathon was cancelled.
Chris Patterson was due to run The Berlin Marathon on Sunday 27 September 2020, his 2nd World Major Marathon having previously completed the Virgin Money London Marathon back in 2018.
As Chris explained "I was due to run the Berlin Marathon on Sunday 27th September in aid of my local Hospice but unfortunately it got cancelled due to the coronavirus. I am now going to run my own marathon around Warrenpoint Burren and Rostrevor in County Down that weekend instead"
Chris is also going to shave his head at the end of June to try and continue to raise funds for the local charity that like many charities, have taken a large financial hit during this pandemic and are in desperate need of funds.
