Warrenpoint Port has wrapped up its 2026 cruise season after Le Lapérouse made its third call to the town last Saturday 26 September. More than 1,000 passengers visited the port over the course of the summer, mainly from North America and Europe.
The French vessel first docked in Warrenpoint in April and again at the beginning of May, meaning it accounted for half of the six cruise calls made to the port this year.
Four vessels berthed at Warrenpoint during the season. Alongside Le Lapérouse, L'Austral, Le Lyrial and SeaDream II all brought visitors to the shores of south Down.

David Holmes, Chief Executive of Warrenpoint Harbour Authority, said: "Welcoming Le Lapérouse back into the natural gateway of Carlingford Lough proved a fitting finale for what was another exciting year of cruise activity here in Warrenpoint."
He said the port worked with Excursions Ireland, Newry, Mourne and Down Council and the Warrenpoint Burren and Rostrevor Chamber of Commerce to make sure every cruise call helped showcase Warrenpoint and the surrounding area to international visitors.
"More than another port of call, Warrenpoint always extends a warm welcome and offers visitors easy access to some of the island of Ireland's most iconic attractions.
"This year's season once again demonstrated the appeal of Warrenpoint and the value of partnership working in delivering a positive experience for international visitors to the town."
