This year activities will take place at the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre and in Newry and Mourne Museum at Bagenal’s Castle.
From five o’clock until late, the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre will host performances by Accolade Choir, Newry Community Choir, Sonas Harp Ensemble and Kaleidoscope Imagine Ukulele Orchestra. There will be clay workshops for younger culture vultures and you can enjoy the mixed media exhibition by local artist Fionnuala McKinley.
Meanwhile, renowned storyteller Niall de Búrca will be spinning yarns and telling tall tales at Newry and Mourne Museum from 6.30pm.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Cllr Naomi Bailie said, “I’m looking forward to Culture Night this Friday.
The Council’s free programme of events includes workshops and performances for all the family. I’m especially looking forward to ‘A Night at the Pictures’ and Niall de Búrca. This year’s event is the biggest yet and we look forward to working with community groups, across the district ,such as the Downpatrick Community Collective and Newry Community Choir to support arts and culture in Newry, Mourne and Down.”
