Evora Hospice Care has launched its 2026 Car Raffle, giving people the chance to win a brand-new Renault Clio for just £2 a ticket. The draw, which takes place at Buttercrane Shopping Centre in Newry, will help fund specialist nursing care and emotional support for patients and families across Armagh, Down and Tyrone.
The prize on offer is a Renault Clio Evolution 1.0 in Ceramic Grey, with this year's raffle once again supported by Shelbourne Motors and Buttercrane Shopping Centre, Newry. The draw will be held on Saturday 7 November 2026 at the Buttercrane Shopping Centre.
The Annual Car Raffle is one of Evora Hospice's most important fundraising efforts, with organisers stressing that every ticket sold contributes directly to the care the hospice provides. A spokesperson for Evora Hospice said: "Hospice care is not about endings - it's about dignity, peace, and the chance to feel human again. When someone buys a ticket, they're helping us provide that experience to another family. It's a small act with a profound impact."
One local patient, who asked Evora to share her experience publicly, spoke about the difference the hospice made to her following her diagnosis. She said: "Those fears dissolved the moment I walked through the door. For the first time since my diagnosis, I didn't feel like a condition or a case. I felt like myself. The empathy shown to me was overwhelmingly beautiful… Evora offers contentment at a time when life can feel anything but settled. It is a place of dignity, warmth, understanding, and humanity."
Supporters can enter the raffle online at southernareahospice or by returning the entry form and tickets received by post. Tickets are also on sale at Buttercrane Shopping Centre, Newry, along with a number of other venues in Down, Armagh and Tyrone.
