The new Newry, Mourne and Down Council, (formerly Newry and Mourne and Down District Councils), launched its first call for Financial Assistance on 1st December 2014. The call provides an opportunity for external organisations to apply for financial assistance up to £5,000 for projects taking place between 1st April 2015 and 31st March 2016. Applications will close on Friday 30th January 2015 at 4pm.

Presiding Cllr Charlie Casey commented, “The new Council wants to ensure that there is minimal disruption to the good work which is undertaken across the area. Therefore we have agreed this new process for Financial Assistance which provides opportunities for projects to be delivered from April 2015. We would encourage you to attend the roadshows and avail of this new opportunity.”
This call is for projects in the following programme areas:
Sports Development
Community Support Programme (including small scale Environmental Schemes)
Major/Minor events and festivals (including Christmas Illumination Events 2015)
Economic Development and Tourism
Culture (including Arts, Museum, Irish Language and Ulster Scots)
Summer Play Schemes
Small Grants (up to £250)
