Write a commentIn September Rathore School staff, members of the McArdle family and friends completed a sponsored walk on Newry Greenway which saw a fantastic total of £610.00 raised for PIPS Hope and Support.
The cheques were presented to the Fundraising Department at PIPS Hope & Support. This impressive total was raised through sponsor cards and donations on the day, plus a very generous £100 sponsorship from Collette Byrne of Spar, Patrick Street who also provided refreshments of fruit and water for the walkers.
Gavin Murphy from Rathore School and Friends explained how the event was a way to show their appreciation and backing for the work of PIPS Hope and Support. Gavin said “Rathore School, Friends, the McArdle family and all involved have frequently supported PIPS Hope and Support this year to ensure they can continue to provide a substantial service to the greater community, we thank each and every one who attended, donated and supported the fundraiser in any way. PIPS Hope and Support is a charity which is close to many of us and we were delighted to play an influential role in raising essential funds.”
Paddy Mageean, Assistant Fundraising Officer for PIPS Hope and Support thanked Rathore School and friends for their generous efforts and support. “We would like to take this opportunity to send our appreciation and thanks to Gavin, Declan, the McArdle Family, Spar Patrick Street and each and every individual who took part in the walk and helped the guys out in any way possible. The funds they have raised are testament to the excellent work they do with the community and it ensures PIPS Hope and Support can continue to provide prevention services and support for local families, groups and individuals throughout the southern region”.
Paddy continued by saying “All funds raised for PIPS Hope & Support are spent locally to help and support people with issues affecting their quality of life and provides education programmes to people on how they can help reduce the risk of suicide in our greater community.”
