There will be a first full session for Cumann Óige an Iúir in Gaeláras Mhic Ardghail this Thursday 23rd October. It commences at 7.00pm
Also on Thursday local, somewhat older, Gaeilgeoirí will be attracted to two events. A new outlet on Hill Street, Cumarsáidí Dhún Knox, will be officially opened (6.00pm-9.00pm). It is the first commercial premises in Newry to avail of Foras na Gaeilge funding that promotes bilingual public signage. Meanwhile, in Armagh City, the long-standing and influential monthly magazine, An tUltach, will be celebrating its 90th birthday with a lecture and music. It starts at 7.30pm on Thursday and is to be held in Leabharlann agus Cartlann Ó Fiaich.
In the run-up to Halloween mid-term break, Newry Gaelic League will host a GAEL-LINN vinyl exhibition in the Gaeláras. Local singer Gearóidín Bradley will sing some songs from the GAEL-LINN back-catalogue on Monday night 27th October and the exhibition will run until 9.00pm on Tuesday night 28th October. Cuirfear ar fáil duaiseanna beaga. Tuesday night will also see six additional applicants undertaking their Fáinne examinations in the Gaeláras.
