Gaeláras Mhic Ardghail is to host a week long Ceramics Summer School for teenagers at its Chapel Street premises in Newry, as part of August Craft Month. The Art Week is aimed at young people aged 11 to 16 and will run from 3 to 7 August, with sessions taking place daily from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
The summer school will offer young people the chance to explore art, throw on the potter's wheel and develop creative skills as part of a fun and welcoming programme during the summer holidays. The week is designed to encourage creativity, confidence and self-expression through Irish immersion, with sessions supporting participants ranging from beginners to more advanced speakers of the Irish language.
The course costs £65 and will take place at the centre's premises on Chapel Street, Newry, BT34 2DS. The week will focus on creativity, friendship, clay and fun.
