Jennie had her head shaved on the night and this together with a Raffle raised the massive sum in memory of her Nephew Curtis Clyde.
This weekJennie presented PIPS Hope and Support’s Padraig Harte and Roisin Martin with the cheque.
Jennie decided she wanted to raise awareness and funds for PIPS Hope and Support in Curtis’s memory by having a charity head shave on Saturday 25 May.
Speaking at the cheque presentation, Jennie said she wanted to facilitate a fundraiser to raise awareness and funds for a charity close to her heart that supports the most vulnerable in the local area. “In January 2019, I unquestionably wanted to undertake a fundraising event in memory of my nephew Curtis, a few ideas came to light, and I decided that I would undertake a head shave and raffle to raise as much money and awareness for PIPS Hope and Support. Never did I believe that we would have raised a total of £12,000 and it is heart-warming to witness the outpouring support we all had from family, friends and the local community prior to the event and on the night.”
Jennie continued, “I would like to thank my family, friends and the local community who supported with this initiative. A massive thank you to all those locals and businesses who donated funds and prizes for the raffle, I and my family will be eternally grateful. There are too many individuals and businesses that have to be thanked and we don’t want to leave anyone out, so I hope this serves that. Lastly, a major thank you to Colin Laverty in Gorman’s Bar for the fantastic support he gave to us all throughout the entire fundraiser.”
Padraig Harte, PIPS Hope and Support Fundraising Coordinator thanked Jennie, the Clyde family and all involved who supported the recent fundraiser. “PIPS Hope and Support wish to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to Jennie, the Clyde family & friends, local community and all those local businesses and individuals for raising this fantastic amount for our charity. Padraig finished by saying “Jennie has been a total pleasure to be supporting and we were overjoyed with her achievement in Curtis’s memory. The substantial funds raised will deliver resources to benefit and support vulnerable people within our community, helping them address issues affecting their quality of life as well as providing education programmes to people on how they can help reduce the risk of suicide in our greater community.
