Write a commentA woman in her 90's has died following a house fire in Jonesborough last night.
A call was received at 7.20pm by NIFRS to a fire in the kitchen at a semi detached house at Bay View, Jonesborough.
When fire personel attended, the fire had already been partially extinguished by neighbours and firefighters fully extinguished it.
Tragically a 94 year old lady died in the incident and a 50 year old man was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Two fire appliances from Newry and one from Warrenpoint attended the scene.
An investigation into the cause of the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious, has now commenced.
