Country musician Kerry Fearon from Jonesborough is looking forward to the premiere of her very own TV programme on the Keep it Country TV channel (SKY 389) today Tuesday 13 June at 4pm (repeated Saturdays at 4pm). The show is filmed on location in Newry.
‘Kerry’s Gold Country’ will feature a mixture of contemporary country, Honky tonk, traditional country, country rock, folk and more.
Speaking about the programme Kerry commented "I have gone to great lengths to find you different music from the USA, the UK, Ireland and many more so I really hope that you enjoy my choice! My show is filmed on location in my hometown of Newry and I am delighted to have it aired on Phil Mack’s very successful channel which is getting stronger by the day."
Kerry started 2017 winning the Horizon Award for Most Successful British and Irish Newcomer of 2016, and her first single taken from debut album. ‘Storms never last’ spent almost 2 weeks at number 2 on the UK radio airplay chart, reaching number 15 on the Hotdisc international top 40 chart.
Kerry added "I am currently enjoying the success of my latest single ‘Red River Valley’ which I recorded as a duet with my good friend Jordan Mogey. We remain in the top ten of the UK radio airplay chart for Irish country after just a few weeks since the release! I am looking forward to releasing my album later this year which has been produced by Clive Culbertson of No Sweat studios, Coleraine.
Kerry is on the Will Banister tour this month along with Nicky James, Jordan Mogey and Jake Carter. Last year she opened up for Marty Haggard (son of the late Merle), and reached the final of Glór Tíre on TG4.
She currently presents the ‘Homegrown Hour’ on Downtown Country every night at 10pm and Ireland’s Hot 7 chart which goes out on Downtown Country and Downtown Radio after Big T’s show on a Sunday night and already has UK gigs lined up for 2018 including Towerfest in Yorkshire and the famous Hooley in the Highlands.
