King Calls for Floodlights at Meigh Playing Fields

Newry City Councillor Cathal King has written to the Council requesting the installation of floodlights at Meigh Playing Fields and the adjacent walking track, describing the upgrade as essential for making the facility fully accessible to local residents.

Cllr King said the lighting would make the site more accessible. "This upgrade is essential to make the facility fully accessible for local residents, supporting sport, physical activity, and safety," said Councillor King. "The newly installed pitch is a real community resource, and it must be accessible to everyone, day or evening."

Cllr King said his party would continue pushing for the improvements and pledged to keep the community updated on progress as he works to deliver the upgrades for residents.
