The group is presently involved in two projects for childrens charities.
Many colourful jumpers have already been made for “Fish and Chip Babies” with the help of Volunteer Now for HUG (Helping Uganda Grow) as well as a multitude of little jumpers knitted for teddy bears to raise funds for Barnardo’s.
The term “Fish and Chip Babies” refers to babies born in to extreme poverty in many countries in Africa. Many of them have HIV and families are so poor that when the baby leaves hospital quite often minus their mother they are sent home wrapped in newspapers.
