Newry's top notch athlete Willie McCracken will run the Berlin Marathon later this month in memory of his wife Patricia who passed away in June last year.
Joining Willie and making it a family occasion will be daughter Eimeár.
The pair will don their Newry City Runners gear and raise funds for the Southern Area Hospice.
The 40th Berlin Marathon will take place on Sunday the 29th of September and Willie and Eimeár will be just two of the massive 40,000 runners who will take to the streets of Berlin in one of the largest Marathons in the world!
Commenting on the run Eimeár said "We are running to raise money for the SAHS, a vital service for our community and one which our family are extremely grateful for. We witnessed first hand the great work of all the staff when they cared for our mum last year."
