A major Sustainable Living Fair will be held in Newry on the 24th of October which will give Local Businesses the opportunity to Showcase their products. There will be a particular emphasis on energy efficiency, renewable energy, travel, and local food.
As well as the Fair from October 21st to 25th Newry and Mourne Council and Southern Regional College will be hosting renewry; a series of events to showcase the opportunities and advantages for households and businesses to adopt sustainable living practices. The highlight of the week though will be Renew: Sustainable Living Fair on Thursday the 24th in Newry Sports Centre.
The Fair will be open to the public, with exhibits; information, demonstrations, talks, and products and services that can help people understand how to live more sustainably.
John Farrell, Director of Environment, Health and Building Services is keen to see local businesses participate in the Council run event and commented “Sustainable Living is now part of every household’s day to day life. It may be driven by a desire to save money from reducing energy use, or just from a sense that living sustainably is good for your health and the planet."
The Fair will host up to 50 exhibitors from across Northern Ireland and a limited number of spaces are available to organisations and businesses from the Newry and Mourne District.
