Visit Buttercrane and support their nominated charities from Thurs 11th to Sunday 14th May and help ignite a national conversation about whether we are surviving or thriving and what we can do to bring about change. Events include Lego Firewalk, 24 hour Treadmill, Knit and Natter, Zumba demonstrations, Positive Thoughts acts of kindness and ‘A Bag of Worries’ book reading sessions in Easons for children.
Good mental health is more than the absence of a mental health problem.
Mental Health Awareness Week encourages everyone to look at mental health from a new angle. Rather than ask why so many people are living with mental health problems, the initiative asks why too few of us are thriving with good mental health.
The Royals are also highlighting the issue of men’s mental health in recent weeks through their charity Heads Together and their #oktosay campaign.
Peter Murray Centre Manager says: “This is an issue which affects our whole community – young and old and it’s something each of our nominated charities face on a daily basis. PIPS, Samaritans and Michaela Foundation can offer help, support and assist those ‘not thriving’ to take positive steps to help them feel better. This is a campaign Buttercrane is very proud to support and we’re delighted to work with our nominated charities and be part of a national conversation on Mental Health.”
