Almost two miles of canal are now accessible to paddle around Scarva making a four mile round trip!
Even if you don't have a boat of your own you might well get a chance to have a seat on someone else’s for a duck's eye view of the canal.
Members of the local IWAI have been busy trimming overhanging branches and getting everything ship shape so that the stretch is easily navigated.
An IWAI spokesperson commented “ We would like as many vessels as possible to come and test the waters of the canal. Such a lot of work has gone into improving the waterway over the last winter and we want to encourage everyone to feel the canal belongs to them. Using the canal is the most effective way of lobbying for additional investment by the ABC Council.”
