Speaking at the event Slieve Gullion Councillor Pete Byrne welcomed the opening “It was great to see the sun come out for the grand opening of Newtownhamilton playpark. A lot of work by all in the community has gone into improving the facilities in Newtown and the surrounding area over the last few years.”
Cllr Byrne continued “I had the pleasure of chairing the play strategy meetings which fed into the Council’s Play Strategy 2017-22 and it is incredible to see these plans finally realised. The latest updates to play facilities would not have been possible if it weren’t for the Rural Development funding.”
