Families in Belleeks recently enjoyed an afternoon of outdoor fun in their new play park. The Party in the Park organised by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council's, Slieve Gullion DEA Forum, took place on Friday, 16 May.

Children and parents took part in a wildlife treasure hunt, arts and crafts including caterpillar making, face painting and large bubble displays, with families also getting the chance to explore the new play park.
Slieve Gullion DEA Forum Chairperson, Councillor Aine Quinn said the event showed the value of community activities for local families. "The Party in the Park highlighted the importance of providing accessible community events that promote wellbeing, social connection and positive outdoor play opportunities for children and young people," she said.
Councillor Quinn added: "Events like these continue to play an important role in strengthening community relationships and creating opportunities for families to come together in a positive and inclusive environment."
The event was supported by the Belleeks Regeneration Group and part-funded by the Multi-Disciplinary Social Work Team within the Newry and District Federation of Family Practices.
