Write a commentA planning application has been submitted by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council for the provision of a public entertainment area at Slieve Gullion Forest Park.
The area located in the walled garden at Slieve Gullion will take the form of an outdoor events space (amphitheatre) with a removable cinema screen, seating, ramp, paving and stage area.
Drawings show the amphitheatre with tiered seating with timber edges and finished in artificial grass looking towards a raised stage area in the middle. A 3.5m wall will be used as a stage backdrop and a cinema screen.
The application was submitted in August.
