PLAYR-FIT has presented Evora Hospice with a cheque for £9,650 following the success of this year's PLAYR-FIT Business 5s charity tournament. The total donation will directly support Evora Hospice in continuing to provide compassionate care and support to patients and their families in the local community.
Funds were raised through team entry fees, Gift Aid, an event-day raffle, and a £5 donation from every official event jersey sold through the PLAYR-FIT online shop. Now established as a highlight of the local business and sporting calendar, the annual event continues to grow each year, attracting more teams, stronger community support, and an increasing display of creative team jersey designs. The tournament has become much more than a football competition, with businesses from the region taking part to network, compete and raise funds for the cause.
Sean Boyle, Senior Partnerships Executive at Evora Hospice, said: "We are incredibly grateful to PLAYR-FIT for once again hosting the PLAYR-FIT Business 5s in support of Evora Hospice. The funds raised through this fantastic event will help us continue providing compassionate care and support to patients and their families when they need it most. Thank you to PLAYR-FIT, all the participating businesses, and everyone involved for making such a positive impact in our community."
PLAYR-FIT Director Kieran Quinn said: "We're incredibly proud of what the Business 5s has become and grateful to every business, participant, volunteer, sponsor and supporter who helped make this year's event our biggest and most successful yet. Raising £9,650 for Evora Hospice is a fantastic achievement, and we're delighted that the event continues to make a meaningful difference within our local community."
PLAYR-FIT extended its thanks to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered and supported this year's event, with the generosity of the local business community once again demonstrating the power of sport to unite people for a worthy cause.
