Two men aged 29 and 34 have been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, folowing an incident in Newry yesterday where a man was found unconscious with serious head injuries at the junction of New Street/ Sugarhouse Quay in the city.

The men appeared at Armagh Magistrates Court. A third person who was arrested, a 33 year old woman has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
The incident happened around 2:25am Monday morning, The man aged in his 40’s was taken to hospital.
Speaking about the incident Detective Sergeant Bell said “Enquiries are continuing to establish how this man received these injuries and we would appeal to anyone with any information to contact detectives in Newry on 101, quoting reference number 165 3/6/19. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
