Well Fit Café have officially opened their first outlet in Newry, situated on the Old Warrenpoint Road.
The Cafe hopes to appeal to all, from the competitive athlete to someone who just wants something better to eat.
Their food offering is based around nutritional transparency on almost all their dishes, with calories, protein, fat & carbohydrate content made clear. They avoid processed ingredients and unhealthy processes such as deep frying or microwaving. The “healthy option” is the default setting, with standard side dishes such as brown rice, wholewheat pasta and sweet potatoes, as their standard side dishes. Food intolerances are also extensively catered for.
To support people being active, they have 4 x “hotel standard” shower units, bike racks & simple bike washing facilities, which make them an ideal stop for people coming from the gym, cycling, running or coming off the recently opened Kilbroney mountain bike trails. They also welcome the local cycling & running clubs supporting them with their needs for committee meetings.
Tom Hughes, Managing Director says, “Well Fit Café is a unique new concept, the first of it’s kind in the UK & Ireland. We want our place to be somewhere that the entire local community feels proud to be part of". Tom goes on to say, “we are meeting a huge need out there. So many people want to be able to eat out or grab a quick takeaway without “falling off the wagon”. We want to help people stay on track and provide a fantastic experience. We’ve got a great team in place and the buzz around the business is amazing. We won’t be the last business to follow this concept but we are the first and we will be the best. We aim to have WFC’s all over the UK & Ireland within the next 18 months. Newry is a great place to start and it's great to have support from within the fitness community and organisations such as the local council and Chamber of Commerce. The future looks very bright!".
