Southern Area Hospice are currently running a draw to win a painting of the 1960 Down GAA All Ireland Football Champions. You can enter for £5 and support Southern Area Hospice at the same time.
This rare painting of the Down GAA Senior squad of 1960 was donated to the Hospice to raffle by Jim Byrne of Soapy Joe’s car wash, Belfast Road Newry. This falls on the 60th Anniversary for Downs first ever All Ireland success when the defeated Kerry on 25th September 1960 with a record attendance and the first time Sam Maguire came over the border.
To enter the draw for a chance to win, just donate £5 to Southern Area Hospice Facebook Fundraiser and that will gain you one entry into the draw. If you would like to enter more than once, you can donate more (£5-1 entry, £10- 2 entries, £15-3 entries etc.)
The draw will take place on 25th September to coincide with the 60th Anniversary of the game in 1960 so please share far and wide if you know someone who would love to be in with a chance to get their hands on this magnificent painting.
This painting is approx. 3.5ftx 3ft in dimensions and is more spectacular than a picture can portray. It would be beautiful in a hallway, club rooms, bar or hotel. It was painted by the very talented Mairead Murphy, Rostrevor.
