A young mum battling cancer is hosting a coffee and cakes afternoon this weekend in Camlough to raise vital funds for Evora Hospice, the service that has supported her throughout her treatment.

Gabrielle McTaggart was diagnosed with cancer whilst pregnant with her second child and was immediately induced. She has been undergoing treatment ever since and credits Evora Hospice with providing invaluable support during the most difficult time of her life.

Speaking about her motivation for the fundraiser, Gabrielle said: "I don't fear death but I'm petrified of not living."

The event takes place this Saturday 18 October at 2pm at Shane O'Neill's Clubhouse in Camlough. It's a child-friendly afternoon, so families are welcome to come along and there'll be plenty of sweet treats whilst supporting a worthy cause.

The response from the local community has been overwhelming, with numerous businesses donating raffle prizes including a £100 voucher from Lakeview Aesthetics, a Christmas studio voucher from Karen Mooney Photography, session vouchers from The Power House Physio & Pilates Studio, a massage voucher from JKB Sports Therapy, and two £50 vouchers from Infinity Swimming.

Gabrielle is also most appreciative of the support she has got from Shane O'Neills and the entire local community. "It means the world to me" she explains.

Everyone who donates either online or in person will receive a free raffle ticket for the draw taking place on the day.

For those unable to attend, donations can still be made online at www.justgiving.com

All proceeds will go directly to Evora Hospice, formerly known as Southern Area Hospice Services, to help them continue their vital work supporting families across the region.
