100 Paintings in 100 Days Exhibition at Arts Centre

A year ago Mullaghbawn based artist Liam O’Sullivan hadn't even finished his first painting but since then he has set himself a mountain-sized challenge to complete “100 Paintings in 100 Days”, whilst also working full-time and helping to raise a young family - then to sell them and donate the proceeds to good causes. 

From New Year’s Eve until Early April, Liam painted a picture every day. He only had from 5am to 7am each morning to paint. Creating this restriction meant that Liam had no choice but to quickly learn to paint fast. The exhibition shows that amazing 100-day journey.

Liam hopes his work might inspire others to take on challenges, just to see what you can accomplish. He also hopes the project will help people realise you are never too old to start painting. “I hope people will get as much from viewing the paintings as I did from painting them. If all this inspires even one person to take on a mad challenge, for themselves or for their community, I will be well pleased.” 

All of the production costs (canvas, paints, brushes etc and, the biggest one of all, gallons and gallons of white spirit) were generously funded by the sponsors. This means that every single penny received for these paintings will be donated to a charity or community group of the buyer’s choice. So if you would like to grab yourself a beautiful oil painting at a bargain price and donate to your favourite  good cause at the same time, this is too good a chance to miss. The Sean Hollywood Centre will pay out all monies to the causes nominated at the end of the exhibition.
