Newry Drama Festival has launched its 69th season and this weekend you can get hold of your season ticket for the week when the booking office opens at the Canal Court Hotel.
The festival runs for 6 nights in Newry Town Hall from March 27 to April 1. Groups competing include Newpoint players and Bunclody- Kilmyshall, and for the first time a local non-competing group Lislea Dramatic Players with their much acclaimed comedy ‘See How They Run’ will be performing on Wednesday 29 March.
The Main Sponsors of the festival this year are McAllister Group, Newry and the events Adjudicator is Ailbhe Garvey Hughes from Galway.
Season tickets can be bought in the Canal Court Hotel on Saturday 18 March from 9:30am to 12:30pm and on Wednesday 22 March from 4:00 until 6:00pm. Priced at £40 or £20 for students the season ticket admits you to all the plays. Nightly tickets will also be available at the door each evening from 7:00pm and are £10 with concessions £9.
Taking part this year are Rosemary Drama Group, Bart Players, Lislea Dramatic Players, Newpoint Players, Bunclody/ Kilmyshall and Dundalk Theatre Workshop.
Booking for Season Ticket Holders will take place in the Canal Court on Saturday 18 March from 9:30am to 12:30pm and on Wednesday 22 March from 4:00pm until 6:00pm.
