Southern Regional College and Southern Area Health and Social Care Trust are working in partnership to provide training to health care workers. SRC is delivering the Technical Certificate in Health and Social Care to 56 health care workers at present across the region and this training will continue with further students when the first group completes the programme.
Fifteen health care workers are working towards their qualification at Southern Regional College’s Newry Campus and recently met with Joanne Wilson (NVQ assessor within the Trust), Justin Edwards (Director of Curriculum and Student Services, SRC), Maggie Grant (Head of School Early Years and Health Care, SRC), Mairead McGarvey (NVQ coordinator, SRC) and Anna Shortt (Deputy Head of School Early Years and Health Care, SRC).
This is a great achievement for the employees from the Trust and they will continue their learning pathway by completing an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care within the next few months.
