Police Arrests

Police in Newry have arrested a 21 year old man following a burglary.

At 10.50am on Monday, 21 April, two males entered business premises in Corn Market. One of the males entered a staff room at the rear of the premises and stole a purse which contained a sum of cash and bank cards.

Officers attended and, following a number of enquiries, arrested a man in the Maginnis Street area of Newry on Tuesday evening, 22 April. He was interviewed and later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police in Newry also arrested a man following an assault in licensed premises on Merchants Quay.

At 12.26am on Monday, 21 April, a 31 year old man was arrested for assault. He was further arrested for possession of Class A and possession of Class A with intent to supply.

He was later released on bail pending further enquiries.
