While everyone else will be running around on a marathon Shopping exercise in the lead up to Christmas Warrenpoint runner and member of Newry City Runners Club, Kevin Gallagher will be running the real thing!

Kevin plans to run a full Marathon (42.2km) each day from 13th - 24th December on a treadmill at The Buttercrane Shopping Centre in Newry to raise money for six local charities.
The Charities are Friends of St Dallans , Patrick Dinsmore Memorial Trust, PIPS Newry and Mourne , Newry & Mourne AutismNI Group ,Newry Samaritans and Killowen Fundraising Group...Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
After taking up running 3 years ago Kevin has taken part in many local running events in the area as well as the Belfast , Dublin marathons ,after training on a treadmill the idea was hatched to do the "12 Marathon Days Of Christmas" and after Jo Fearon from Cork did this as a World record last year it was always on Kevin's mind to do this in 2014.
This event will not be trying to break Jo's record but to raise badly needed cash towards local charities.
There will be collection buckets at the event at The Buttercrane Shopping Centre , so please give what you can however the amount, it all helps.
The challenge will kick off on Saturday 13th December and the running times are from Sat- Sun 12-5pm and Mon- Fri 4-9pm
Kevin is looking forward to the event and would like the support of the whole community if you would like to help in anyway please contact Kevin here activedownarmagh@gmail.com or PM the events facebook page at www.facebook.com/12marathondaysofchristmas
Kevin would like to thank The Buttercrane Shopping Centre and everyone for their great support.
