Senior Team
Craobh Rua seniors played Clontibret in a league match last week and claimed a worthy victory in what was a close encounter. It was a passionate and committed team effort from the Craobh Rua hurlers. Clontibret played their part in providing the spectators at the match with a good game. There were good exhibitions of hurling skills from both sets of hurlers. This Tuesday night our seniors are at home to Truagh Gaels.

U14
We travelled to Portaferry this Friday the 25th Of May to take on Portaferry in a Down League game. The game was played in excellent conditions and this also helped make the long journey to the well known Down hurling club a very enjoyable one. The lads worked hard in the game and most importantly stuck together throughout. Next week sees us with an away game this Monday night (28th May) v Keady. We will be leaving from the clubhouse at 6:15pm.
On Friday night we make another trip to the peninsula to this time face up to Ballygalget. Management will be in contact later in the week.

U16
Craobh Rua Under 16 team faces a stern challenge in their league game home to Ballygalget.
Beautiful weather and perfect pitch conditions ensured a fast high scoring encounter against our opponents. A nip and tuck first half left the score line 2-06 to 0-09 at half time. The second half was more of the same and the match was very close. We notched a few scores at the right time to run out 4-10 to 2-14 winners. It was a game played in a tough but sporting manner and credit to both teams for their excellent hurling skills.

Exams
Many of our young hurlers are now focused on important exams they face.
A little bit of stress can be a good thing as it motivates us to knuckle down and work hard. But exams can make stress levels get out of hand, which can stop us from performing our best. So it's important to address it and get it back under control. Remember If you're feeling really worried or anxious, chat to a good friend, family member, or tutor. It helps to get it out of your system, and they may well be able to help think about practical strategies to deal with exam stress.
We wish those doing exams well and we in Craobh Rua remind all our young hurlers in particular that they are valued members of our club family and we deeply appreciate their input and efforts.
