Senior Men

After having a free weekend our senior men are scheduled return to league action next Saturday evening with a home game against Eire Óg.

Senior Ladies

Our senior ladies came from seven points down at half-time to earn a well-deserved draw last Sunday night away to Sarsfields. Both teams put in a tremendous effort and produced both superb scores and heroic defending in abundance. Well done to all the players on a very entertaining game and many thanks also to Sarsfields club for their hospitality afterwards. The ladies were back in action on Saturday evening when they travelled play Armagh Harps. Due to several absentees with injury, work and family commitments, Shanes fielded with seven U16 players against a strong Harps side. However, the Harps soon realised they were in a battle as Shanes took the game to their more experienced opponents. Unfortunately, Harps hit two fortuitous goals just before half-time to edge ahead. The Shane’s stuck to their task throughout the second-half, defending brilliantly at times, before finishing with a late rally but fell just short on the night. It was great display of heart and fighting spirit from Shane’s with outstanding performances especially from young goalkeeper Aoife Brady and the more experienced Geraldine McNally, who notched 1-3 from midfield. Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm

U16 Girls

Our U16 girls played Carrickcruppen in a challenge game on Friday and well done to both sets of players for putting on a very entertaining game.

U12 Boys

Our U12 boys had a busy but successful week with games against Dromintee on Monday night and Killeavy on Saturday. The young Shane’s have been playing some great football recently and they continued this over the two games, running out deserved winners in both games and making it wins in a row.... well done lads, keep it going.

Well Done

Well done to our underage footballers Odhran Bradley, Caoimhe Feehan and Diarmuid Mathers who have all been awarded Gaeltacht scholarships as part of the Armagh Gaeltacht Scholarship scheme.

Good Luck

Good luck to all our footballers who are currently sitting their exams.

Sponsor cards will be given to all our footballers from U6 right through to Senior and all donations, big or small will be greatly appreciated. As an incentive we will offering prizes at each group for the player with the most money raised on their sponsor card. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in on the day so why not bring your family friends along.

Shane O’Neill’s & the Confucius Institute

Our ongoing relationship with the Confucius Institute continued on Saturday when a group of Chinese students and representatives from the Confucius Institute visited the club. The students learned some of the basic skills of Gaelic football including kick passing, hand passing, soloing and shooting and our senior men's footballer David McCabe even "volunteered" to knock over a few frees off the ground. The afternoon was rounded off with a lovely lunch in The Yellow Heifer. Everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable day and we hope to see them all back at the club again soon.

Lotto

Last week’s winning lotto numbers were 11, 13, 15 & 22. There were no jackpot winners and 3 x match three winners. The jackpot now stands at £1,300.
