Newry 1’s 1-2 Annadale 1’s
Newry hosted Annadale on Saturday missing a number of first team players. Annadale started the better of the two teams however, Newry grew into the game and were soon pinning ‘dale into their own half for long periods. However it was the away side that drew first blood when they punished poor defending to go one ahead with a simple tap in. Newry reorganised and went in the hunt of the equaliser however they could not convert their pressure and possession into clear cut chances.

The second half followed in the same vein as the first with the home side having much of the possession but could not find a way to break down a resolute Annadale defence. ‘Dale got their second of the game catching Newry out on the break in what looked like the match winner. Newry had different ideas and a sublime piece of skill from Roger Clarke got Newry back into the game as he took the ball with his back to goal, beat to defenders and casually chipped the ball over the advancing keeper. Newry had their chances to get the equaliser the most notable of which fell to Colin McKnight but he was unable to convert and the game finished 2-1.
