Translink has been speaking to customers this week on the early morning train from Newry to Belfast informing them of their new enhanced services beginning from July. It follows the allocation of additional funding for the route.
The services will be in addition to the existing Dublin Belfast Enterprise timetable and will serve Great Victoria Street instead of Central. For those who work in Belfast during the week there will be a choice of two trains to get them to Belfast before 9am, while anyone looking an evening out in Belfast has an additional two hours (compared to the present latest train of 20:05) to while away in The Crown or suchlike.
Monday to Friday will see 4 additional trains travel from Newry to Belfast. two in the morning at 06:35 and 07:30 (change Portadown) and three in the evening at 18:50 and 19.50 with an additional train to Portadown only, leaving Newry at 23:30.
The service to Newry from Monday to Friday will see 3 additional trains leaving Belfast Great Victoria at 17.21, 18:20 and 22:10
Saturdays will see two additional services leaving Newry at 07:50 and 18:50 and leaving Belfast Great Victoria at 17:30 and 22:10. An additional Newry to Portadown service again leaves Newry at 23:30.
