Casey condemns Primary School damage

Newry City Councillor, Charlie Casey has condemned those responsible for an attack on St Patrick’s Primary School over the weekend.

Speaking about the incident Cllr Casey said “Once again we have witnessed an attack on the local community in the Meadow with the smashing of windows and other criminal damage.

"The local community will stand fully behind me when I condemn these thugs and their behavior. I visited the scene this morning (23 Nov) and I cannot understand what goes through these peoples’ minds. I am calling on anyone with information on this incident to contact either myself or the PSNI.”

Cllr Casey concluded “My colleague Conor Murphy MLA has contacted the Education Minister to try and gain some movement on securing the waste land that these thugs are using to attack the school. I believe that this would go some way to alleviating this scourge on our community.”
