Write a commentThe family of Stephen Lines are having a charity night in his memory this Saturday night in Newtownhamilton Community Hall.
Proceeds on the night will go towards the Motor Neurone Disease Association NI and Southern Area Hospice.
Stephen Lines, who passed away in the Southern Area Hospice in March aged just 48 and only three years after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
Stephen's wife Tammy is organising the night and has already raised over £5000 for Motor Neurone Disease in his memory.
Explaining the idea behind the night and why they want to give something back Tammy said "He wasn't religious in any way whatsoever so he requested that he be cremated and that we hold a memorial night for him. A night where everyone can get together, remember him and raise money for the Southern Area Hospice and Motor Neurone Disease Association Northern Ireland Branch.
"Both these charities helped us as a family immensely over the past 3 years. Stephen had 3 stays of respite in the Hospice and the MNDA NI helped us by supporting us both emotionally and financially. We want to give back to them."
The night is this Saturday, 25 May and things kick off at 8pm. There will be music, by DJNI and a light supper will be served.
There will also be a bar and they have some amazing prizes that will be raffled off during the night.
Everyone is welcome. Donations to both charities can be made on the night.
