Write a commentSlieve Gullion Councillor Oonagh Magennis has said that she expects road resurfacing work to begin within the next few weeks in St Patrick’s Park Camlough after stating she was given an assurance by Department for Infrastructure (DfI) Roads Officials at the recent full Council meeting with Senior Department management.
"The surface in St Patrick’s Park is a disgrace, myself and local residents have long been lobbying to get this work done"
Councillor Magennis also raised concerns in relation to the ongoing concerns about traffic safety and management at St Oliver Plunkett Primary School In Belleek.
"A commitment that DfI officials will meet with School representatives to discuss the concerns and view the situation was given and I would hope that this will be arranged as quickly as possible"
The Slieve Gullion Councillor confirmed that her request for a Crash Barrier at the end of Tullyah Road, the resurfacing of Shaughan Road and traffic safety management on the Longfield Road into Mullaghbawn just at the mushroom houses, would all be investigated and assessed by Roads Service DfI.
Cllr Magennis also added "Gritting is an issue of concern throughout south Armagh and the Longfield Road was one of the road network highlighted as needing to be added to the schedule
"Drumalt Rd/Silverbridge Hill Junction will be assessed to see what traffic safety measures can be taken to highlight the sharp right turn from Mullaghbawn direction"
