Original reports stated that the path was to open late 2017 and then early 2018. One publication has mentioned that it wouldn't open till December this year.
It appears that an opening date is still not decided with a statement last week from a council representative stating "Newry, Mourne and Down District Council notes that a date for the opening of the Greenway from Albert Basin to Victoria Lock has yet to be confirmed."
On the completion of the entire project to Carlingford although Louth County Council state December 2019 as the date for the completion of the full path to Omeath and thus on to Carlingford, seemingly this will now not be completed until late 2020 at the earliest with the same spokesperson stating "The completion of the Greenway project linking to Omeath is currently scheduled for late 2020."
