A monument was unveiled in Whitecross at the weekend in memory of the three Reavey brothers murdered on the 4th January 1976.
24 year old, John Martin and 22 year old, Brian Reavey died during the UVF shooting at their home in the village and younger brother, 17 year old, Anthony who was injured in the attack died on the 30th of January in hospital.
The memorial, placed fittingly at the scene of the attack at Greyhilla, Whitecross was unveiled by three members of the Reavey family while Loughgilly Parish Priest Fr Malachy Murphy led the prayers.
Sisters, Cathy Michale, Colleen McKenna and Eileen Reavey unveiled the memorial while brother Seamus spoke to the hundreds of people who attended, in what was an emotionally charged day for the entire family.
The dedication of the plaque brings to a close a year of commemorative events marking 40 years since the murders.
