Dromintee boys Gareth O’Connor and Daniel Donnelly are travelling to Montreal in Canada on Friday to compete in the World Irish Dancing Championships. Both boys will be representing the McEntegart School of Irish Dancing. Based in Newry the school runs classes throughout South Armagh.

Daire Hughes, Mayor, Newry and Mourne District Council and Sinn Fein Councillor Mickey Larkin met the two young men and Mayor Hughes commented ”It was an honour to meet Gareth and Daniel, two young ambassadors for Newry and Mourne. The dedication and commitment shown by these dancers is an inspiration to all in the community. I wish them well in Montreal and assure them that we are all rooting for them."
Councillor Mickey Larkin also congratulated both Daniel and Gareth as well as their dance instructor Majella McEntegart saying "Dromintee and Forkhill are very proud of what these young men have achieved under the tutelage of Majella.Their talent and love for Irish dancing shines. The whole of South Armagh will be cheering for them on the 29th March and I look forward to their return home."
