Pottery and Wellbeing Workshops on Offer at Omeath

A husband and wife team based in Drumullagh, Omeath are currently running seasonal workshops where participants can paint their own Christmas tree ornaments, with all pieces fired in their kiln and ready in time for the festive season.

Ciaran O'Conboirne and Jenn Fitzgerald run two separate businesses from the same location, just off the newly opened Omeath to Victoria Lock section of the Carlingford Lough Greenway. The Saturday workshops see participants create their own unique range of six ornaments using glazes, with bookings available through www.welljennfitz.ie.

Ciaran's business, Celtic Clays Pottery, specialises in hand thrown stoneware ceramics decorated with unique Celtic motifs and designs, finished in a choice of four glaze colours inspired by the landscape of Carlingford Lough and the Cooley Peninsula. His ceramics are an expression of his passion for ancient designs depicted in the Book of Kells and adorning Neolithic monuments like Newgrange.

All of his work is available for sale in his shop, which is open daily adjacent to his studio, and on his newly revamped website www.celticclays.com, with prices starting from €20.

Jenn established Well Jenn Fitz in 2022, combining her degree in psychology and her advanced diploma in holistic lifestyle and nutrition coaching with her love of the outdoors and passion for cooking. She provides workshops and retreats for movement, connection and creativity with a purpose to empower women to prioritise themselves and improve their wellbeing. Many of her events and retreats are based outdoors, immersed in the beauty of the mountains and sea, with her Dip and Dander Community organising monthly outdoor adventures.

She has converted the upstairs of Celtic Clays Pottery into a cosy space for indoor gatherings. Alongside the current ceramic workshops, Jenn runs The Pause, a weekly event to help relax the body and calm the nervous system through stretching, mindfulness and social connection, with a new session starting in January 2026. A range of wellbeing programmes are available to book on www.welljennfitz.ie, including vouchers for summer events like Retreat to the Sea, and corporate and private wellbeing sessions are also available.

The couple's complimentary businesses provide a unique blend of traditional pottery and modern wellness practices, all set against the backdrop of one of our area's most scenic locations on the Carlingford Lough Greenway.
